How to Find Guest Bloggers for Your Website
How can you find guest bloggers for your website? The first step is to determine what type of site your target audience is.
If you are a brand that has created a bowl for dogs then you need to focus on bloggers who write about pets.
These can include family bloggers and animal bloggers However, you should also be sure that the type of site you are approaching will have the type of content you want.
In order to maximize the benefits of guest blogging, make sure to find sites with high traffic, high quality content, and relevant content.
Here are some traditional ways to find bloggers and the average time to search 400 bloggers.
1. Google Search (about 36 hours to find 400 bloggers)
Now most people naturally go to google first to search for bloggers since they trust its search algorithm and they feel that the top bloggers will always appear at the top of search results.
So for example, if you search for the term “beauty blog” you will get an endless list of blogs. With Google search tools you can refine your search to entries within a certain country as well, thereby you are able to receive more relevant blogs in terms of location.
You canalso search the last 24 hours or any other time period and you will recieve different lists of blogs.
Now this may seem an easy way to find bloggers but let me show you the truth. So I did a test and did a search for just 1 blogger through google.
This video below shows my process for finding bloggers one by one. The average time to find 1 blogger and check their SEO credentials and find their email and add their details to the google spreadsheet was approx. 2 minutes. So if you are looking to find 400 bloggers x 2 minutes that equals 26 hours. Now if only it was so simple.
Now from my experience, once you get past page 5 in google you start seeing less relevant search results so you will have to extend that time to 5 minutes to find a relevant blogger so lets run the numbers.
First 100 at 2 minutes per blogger = 13 hours
Next 200 at 4 minutes per blogger = 13 hours
Next 100 at 6 minutes per blogger = 10 hours
Total cost: 36 hours x $10 = $360
Now this is based on the fact that you are not too picky about Domain Authority (DA) or traffic. The more picky you become you can add another 100% on the time spent to find these bloggers through google search.
Now you need to email them all so you will need either to use your own email account or use a 3rd party email system. If you want to personalize each message then you are looking at about 5 minutes per email x 400 bloggers so that works out to 36 hours.

2. Twitter
A popular way to find bloggers is to search their social networks like Twitter which popular among bloggers. If you are looking to find relevant bloggers then there are 2 ways.
The easiest way is to search for them through the Twitter search. Now this sounds simple enough but lets see what the reality is.
Search for “beauty blogger” in the search filter and twitter will show you all the accounts that are tagged with hashtags related to beauty such as #beautyskin, #blogger #beautyblogger.
You can also try searching by place but I dont think it allows you to search by country. So the closest thing you can do is click search “near you”.
The second option is to look for relevant bloggers among the accounts followed by a blogger that you already know. Although if a follower has +1k followers, this may not be the most relevant method because often people follow just to get followed so they may not be relevant.
3. Facebook
Facebook is a good resource to dig around for relevant bloggers. However the search function is limited and will only show you 2 or 3 related bloggers.
Once you have clicked on their profiles you may not see any new suggested bloggers. One advantage of the Facebook search is that you can see the amount of followers the facebook page has.
But then you still need to check their website and see if they have published any recent articles, check their SEO ranking and also find their email. There are also blogger groups that you can join but some are very picky who they let in and often they dont want fishing for free blog posts.
Once you are invited into a group you can publish a post that you are looking for bloggers. We have done this for clients in the past but have found low success.

4. Monitor competitors
We don’t want to encourage you to be a copy cat, but you can find relevant bloggers by looking at domains linking to your competitor’s website.
Moz Open Site Explorer and Ahrefs let you explore any domain for referring links and inbound domains. Thereby you can find bloggers that have linked to your competitors, which might also be relevant for you.
Now if you are just looking to collaborate with bloggers you may not require the data analytics provided by these websites and its quite expensive.
It is a relevant way to find bloggers but you will need an AHREF subscription which costs about (PHOTO) and Moz Subscription which costs about (PHOTO)
5. Feedly and other blog readers
Feedly is primarily designed as a blog reader, which lets you organise, read and share relevant content.
However, it can also be used to find popular blogs on a variety of topics. Now if you dont mind manual searching you can also check out BlogLovin but beware, there may be outdated bloggers on this list so be sure to check the last post date of blogs you are interested in.
Actually many bloggers from Bloglovin and Feedspot are already on authenticbloggers.com so you dont need to manually search for them.
8. Blogging awards
If you are looking for up and coming bloggers or bloggers who have become an authority on a subject then look our for blogger awards websites. Popular ones include
9. Buzzsumo
Buzzsumo is a great tool that lets you search for key influencers for certain keywords but you will have to find their email manually and check out their SEO metrics which will take some time. The costing is

Stumbleupon lets you find good content based on a certain topic. It’s a good and fun way to find relevant blogs for your product.
12. Wefollow
Wefollow allows you to search prominent people based on a certain keyword. You can refine the search by adding a location and limiting the prominence score to a certain level. Also the site suggests related keywords that you can search for.
13. Youtube
Video content is gaining increasing popularity among bloggers and their followers. Youtube largest video platform is a good resource to search for vlogs or videos by bloggers.
You can search for channels or videos. The sort options enables you to list the most popular entries first. A downside to this is that you cannot look for location based results.
The next step in finding guest bloggers for your website is to craft an effective pitch. Don’t be generic;
write a short, to-the-point pitch that will win over your target audience. If you are a website owner, use your name as a resource.
Most bloggers will be pleased to feature their own writing and your name and brand. When contacting a site owner, you will receive many pitches and be able to stand out from the crowd.
Once you’ve gathered your ideas, it’s time to find the right publisher.
You can use tools like Google Analytics to find which blogs are the most popular and which are less popular. Make sure the content you write matches the interests of the audience of the publisher.
A good way to find out what a site’s audience is interested in is to use the Audience Interest Tool to find out what types of topics are most popular.
